Barbados and Royal Clipper 2011

Photos and a few videos from our Christmas trip. Islands, in order: Barbados, St. Barth's, Jost van Dyke, Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Antigua, St. Kitts, Iles des Saintes, St. Lucia, then back to Barbados for four nights before flying home on New Years Eve.

  • In St. Barth's, we're anchored next to the Sea Cloud., which used to be Marjorie Meriweather Post's private yacht. No hydraulic winches here... muscle power!

  • The Sea Cloud taken after sunset. I braced the camera on a railing and took a long exposure, then lightened the shadows in Apple Aperture once I got home. I know it's obsolete, but I remain impressed with my Canon A720is.
  • Sailing from St. Barth's to Tortola; first time the square-rig sails have been unfurled.
  • Anchored off Tortola. Bizarre collection of BIG meter-long fish swarming off the starboard side of the ship. At least two different kinds. One looks like a barracuda, one looks like a small shark. But our marine biologist is ashore...
